Senegal

Expresso Senegal was our second ‘green field’ operation, acquiring a universal licence to operate as a telecom operator in November 2007.

In January 2009, Expresso Senegal launched its commercial operations providing high-quality voice, fixed wireless and high-speed data services over a CDMA network across the nation.

Following on from the success of the launch of our CDMA network, in June 2010 Expresso Senegal successfully launched a GSM network; the only operator providing 3G services for the very first time to the people of Senegal.

We are leading the way in terms of internet access.  Expresso Senegal provides wireless broadband internet across the nation allowing the people of Senegal to connect to the internet, enabling them to make the most of their social networks, obtain the latest news and entertainment.

Expresso Senegal has seen steady growth over a short space of time and we recently achieved a significant milestone, reaching one million subscribers ahead of schedule.  We are determined to continue providing the best solutions to our customers, delivering value and increasing our subscriber base and market share.

Expresso is a key player in the implementation of the Africa Coast to Europe (ACE) submarine communications cable and as a result, Dakar, the capital city of Senegal, will see the landing of this cable in 2011.  This will further enhance Expresso Senegal’s capabilities to deliver superior products and services to the people of Senegal.

We are proud of our achievements so far, but we recognise that we must continue to be innovative, providing value for money to our customers and providing the people of Senegal with exceptional service.

We are committed to the Senegalese market and our aim is to build a sustainable business, making a difference and real contribution to the economy.
